Had the best day with Alex and Azmi for a private snorkel tour around the marine park. They did an amazing job looking for the most secluded and quiet spots. We were in clownfish heaven but also saw rays and turtles. Alex even dove to find me the smallest nudibranch that I've ever seen! What a wonderful day, thank you both.

It's clear the coral is stressed but still very much worth seeing!

We had an incredible scuba diving experience with Alex as our instructor and Captain Yadi at the helm! As a mom diving with three kids (ages 11–17), I truly appreciated how safe, supportive, and fun they made the entire trip. Alex was patient, knowledgeable, and amazing with the kids—he made even the most nervous diver feel confident. Yadi kept everything running smoothly and made sure we were comfortable and safe on the water. The dive sites were stunning, and the whole day felt seamless. I loved my tour with borneo dreams. Because of my own travel arrangements it had been tailored to me and I got to experience everything on the 3d/2n turtle island and river cruise at times that worked for me. Nature can't be planned and we had a fair bit of rain which again shifted things a bit but despite that i still experienced seeing all of the animals I'd hoped to see. My three guides were fab, clearly very passionate about the animals and the nature we were seeing and able to explain what everything was and answer all my questions. I was in awe of their eyes constantly scanning to make sure we didn't miss anything, especially the pit viper at the end! While I loved seeing the turtles hatching Turtle island is the bit I may not have done again as you are in for a long wait in a very basic accommodation to see the turtle- it's pretty sad to see how dirty the sea is as well around sandakan. The sepilok forest and Kinabatangan River areas were both magical and I would happily have spent longer in either of those places. All in all highly recommended!

From the moment we stepped aboard, Alex made us all feel at ease. He struck the perfect balance between professionalism and approachability.

Captain Yadi kept everything running smoothly and safely on the water.

The dive sites they chose were breathtaking, with crystal-clear waters, vibrant marine life, and just the right depth for our varying levels of experience. I left the day feeling proud, joyful, and—most importantly—grateful to Alex and Yadi for creating such a safe, magical, and family-friendly adventure.

WAUW! What an amazing experience! We have been travelling for a few months now and this is the highlight of our travels. Everything is arranged perfect and the people are so nice. The nature is overwhelming. We were lucky to spot the Big Five! Our guide Omar was the best, so much knowledge of the nature and animals and a good sense of humor. I recently took my PADI Open Water Dive Course with Borneo Dream in Kota Kinabalu, and it was one of the best experiences ever. From making a booking to actually completing the course, the entire process was smooth, professional, and enjoyable!

I signed up for the course solo and was supposed to take the course with 3 other students. However, because they didn't complete the e-learning on time, they had to start the course at a later date (do note that it is a MUST to complete the e-learning and exam, they are very strict with this, as they should be), and thus it ended up being a private course with just me and the dive instructor, Basir.

Bas was an awesome teacher and he went above and beyond to ensure that I felt comfortable and confident throughout the course, answering every question I had patiently. He also took his time to make sure that I have mastered each skill, and added fun elements to the dives to make sure that I am enjoying myself.

The boat provided by Borneo Dream was not big, but very well-equipped and well-maintained. Everything we needed for the dive was prepared beforehand and I got to use the same equipment for all 3 days. Bas also taught me all the proper ways of assembling and disassembling my diving kit, as well as proper maintenance habits.

Each day, we had lunch in one of the island and there was a huge variety of options to choose from. Do note that drinks are not included in the package, so either bring some cash if you want to buy drinks, or fill up your water bottle on the boat and bring it down with you. There are also shower stalls at the island for you to wash off the salt water so that you feel more comfortable.

As someone who was diving for the first time, I felt nervous and unsure about taking part in the course, especially since I was doing it solo. I am so grateful that I chose Borneo Dream. The instructors went out of the way to make sure that I am comfortable and well taken care of.

If you are considering taking the PADI Open Water Dive Course in Kota Kinabalu, I strongly recommend Borneo Dream. The instructors here take safety very seriously, and make sure that you are well-equipped with the right skills for you to fully enjoy your dive. You can be sure that you are in safe hands as you pick up this new sport and join the diving community.
