Super Fährverbindung zwischen Penang und Langkawi. Hatte zum Glück einen Fensterplatz unten und konnte schon vorab ein paar Bilder aus den kleinen Fenstern schießen. Der Fußraum ist leider ganz schön eng. Man konnte nicht wirklich die Beine ausstrecken, deshalb einen Punkt Abzug. Wir hatten auch kaum Seegang, deshalb war die 3-stündige Überfahrt gar nicht schlimm

We took the Super Fast Ferry from Penang to Langkawi and it was a not so good experience. The condition of the ferry could be better and the crew could make some announcements from time to time. We stopped at an island and everyone was wondering why and where and after a couple of minutes the ride went on.
It was also very cold on the ferry and that made the trip unnecessary unpleasant, it could be much better if not so cold.

Price is okay and time was roughly 3 hours in total.

Hatten etwas Vorbehalte wegen der schlechten Rezessionen, hat aber alles super geklappt. Boot war pünktlich, hat keine 3 Stunden für die Überfahrt von Penang nach Langkawi benötigt. Temperatur im Boot war absolut ok. Ähnlich wie im Flugzeug. Mit Pulli ok, vielleicht noch mit Kaputze. Wir hatten einen Ventilator hinter ins - wer da empfindlich auf Zugluft ist...Es gibt wahrscheinlich unterschiedliche Boote, da wir auch gute Sicht aus den Fenstern hatten. Beinfreiheit war auch absolut ok. Wir sind beide um die 1.80m groß und hatten keine Probleme. Um unser Gepäck hatten wir anfangs etwas Sorge, da es außen untergebracht wurde, nur Rucksäcke kamen mit ins Boot. War aber kein Problem, wurde abgedeckt, alles trocken geblieben. Fahrt war auch relativ ruhig, keine Fälle von Seekrankheit.

Sicherheit=0,00.Die Fähren sind alt, und mit Passagieren incl. Gepäck recht gut belegt. Da werden die Notausgänge gerne mit dem Gepäck zugestellt, so schwimmt man in einem schwimmenden Sarg.. Nach dem Brand einer Fähre im Feb2019 war pures Glück das keine Person zu Schaden kam, wohl aber ganzes Gepäck verbtant worden ist. Behörden schauen weg, Kritik wird tot geschwiegen. Fliegen ist vielfach sicherer!

We took the ferry today to langkawi. Actuallly i was expecting the worst. But the trip was on time smooth sailing a bit long 3 hours. Nothing unusual the AC was working fine not very cold. I think they are improving their services.

April 2025. This ferry was closed for Covid and has not returned to date according to information desk near Fort Cornwallis.

We took the ferry from Penang to Langkawi. Booking was done through their website and was seamless. Overall the journey and the process was quite smooth. The ferry was okay and the staff did their job properly. Make sure to arrive early to get a better seat, in case you get sea sick that helps. For 80RM per person we can’t complain about the service.

Expected the worst but it was good. We left at 830, sea was flat and luggage was stowed away for free. They charge 1myr to print your ticket - hardly big money. Guy in the terminal was exceptionally smiley. May be not so good if the sea is up but you can go on deck if feeling queasy
