It is a large park with many areas still look like they are under some kind of improvements. It trees takes time for trees to grow- we suspected that the efforts have started some while ago but from the reviews here- not fast enough. “Botanical gardens” sets the expectations high- don’t expect Kew Gardens yet. Could imagine sections featuring different fauna when it is completed, based on the statuettes markers that has been erected.

Most part of the parks are underutilised so allocate some time to go around. The trellis at the hanging gardens are mostly occupied fully by creepers with varying degrees of success. The lake has a lot of pretty lilies accompanied by some floating plastic bottles.

This is one of the larger park in Kuching. A rough circle of the area is about 3km++ acc to Strava. Its hilly for a more adventurous run (cf Pustaka). Can’t wait to see when they are done with the improvements.

Was expecting beautiful landscaping and beautiful flowers around that is why it's names was supposed to mean but end up really disappointing,this garden is really messy and didn't maintain. A lot of of the walking pathway are running with water and slippery. And the walking trail are very confusing you might get lost. And also a lot of mosquito. This garden is not a place for you to relax or enjoy the landscaping. I think it's more sustainable for those who wants to exercise or jogging

Welcome to Sarawak spooky Botanical Garden, where the eerie atmosphere is amplified by the park’s poor maintenance. Once a vibrant sanctuary, it now suffers from neglect due to the DBKU council’s abandonment, leaving overgrown paths, slippery surface, unkempt vegetation, and decaying facilities that tell a tale of forgotten splendor.

Had a family walk this morning starting at 8am with my husband, 3 children and my parents in law. We parked at the main entrance parking and walked in towards the famous Fort Margherita and sarawak flag pole. Was really impressed with the size of the park, variety of flowers and cleanliness. The view of the river and kuching city from the look out point below the flagpole is stunning. After the walk, we managed to catch a boat ride for only RM2/person to cross the river to the city centre. Will definitely visit again.

A large park with recently lauded paths and others are being cleaned up. A wide variety of plants on display. Would have expected more information on the plants present. It is nice to stroll around but don’t expect it to be spectacular.
