This is the bus terminal as well as interchange for Rapid Penang buses. Most of Rapid Penang buses running through the island will start and end here. Penang City Area Transit (CAT) service starts here as well. These buses are separated to different section. Some buses depart from section A of the bus terminal, some buses depart from section B, while Penang CAT bus departs from the road side bus stop.

There is a Rapid Penang customer service counter here. Public toilets are available here as well. Some snacks and food stalls are located nearby. The terminal of Penang ferry service to Butterworth is located nearby to the bus terminal. There is a dedicated covered walkway from the bus terminal to ferry teminal.

Seems well organised and buses appeared to run on time. This is the location on the exit in the street where the free (15 minute intervals) tourist buses park up and commence their loop to the Top Tourist attraction
However, I was not impressed when the bus driver pulled away as my elderly wife hurried towards the bus as it was closing the doors. He just blanked her and pulled off, when allowing her to enter would not have lost him more than 20 seconds.

Rapid bus terminal to most part of island. Bus runs on time! Fares in May 2024, lowest RM 1.40, highest to airport RM 2.70. prepare exact fare, ticket will be given.

Is the bus schedule not updated with rapid bus Penang is it? Why from 4:20 PM until 4:50 pm more than half an hour no 101 bus appears at all? If the bus schedule not updated what’s the point we search for schedule using google map?

Becoz it is difficult to get grab PR Maxim in Balik Pulau.. I tried using 401E bus to the airport. Of course you have to start earlier based on the Bus schedule. No problem getting to the airport 2 hours early and the fare is only RM2.😁😂

The two terminals will get you virtually anywhere on the island for 2RM. Buses are clean. This was my main mode of transportation while in Georgetown
