A scenic stream cascading down the rocks surrounded by lush greenery and calls of birds and crickets as you trek higher and higher. It takes about a 45mins - 1hour trek UP the road from Penang Funicular Lower station to here. While trekking here, you will pass by many residential houses and a few temples. A regret of mine is that me and my husband should have conserve our energy and took a grab from the Lower station to Isivana Vipassana Hermitage and start trekking upwards.

Tip 1: As this place is near Penang hill & waiting for the funicular service takes a minimum of 2hours, I would recommend first, buy your funicular ticket, fill your water bottles, take a grab to the nearest alighting point near this stream cascade & start trekking upwards till you left about 30mins waiting time for the funicular.

Tip 2: Remember to wear long pants as near the entrance, the stream has some sandflies, As you move upwards, there are no more sandflies issue.

Tip 3: There are the bat cave temple and the dragon pillar along the way/road up to this stream cascade. If planning to take some photos, recommend to grab up and walk down, save some energy for Penang hill as there are a lot of walking involved later on. (Could read my review on Penang hill & the habitat).

Seeing the sign will tell you that you are headed in the right direction for this hiking trail as the place and sign is a marker for the cement trail section of the Bat Cave temple to Middle station trail, and marks the head trail point where you are entering into durian orchards. It is also the start of the rather steep and climbing section of the trail.
