I stayed at Hallmark Regency Hotel Johor Bahru for three nights and had a wonderful experience overall. The staff were warm, attentive, and always ready to help.

There was one occasion when we accidentally set the room safe’s passcode incorrectly and couldn’t open it. Thankfully, the staff, Mr. Lawrence and Mr. Garan came up promptly and assisted us with the reset. They handled the situation efficiently and politely, and we really appreciated their professionalism and quick response.

Hallmark Regency Hotel Johor Bahru offers great value for money. The rooms are comfortable, and the breakfast is good with a decent variety. The staff are helpful, making the stay pleasant. There’s a coin laundry near the lobby, but unfortunately the machine was broken during my stay. Still a solid choice for travelers looking for comfort without breaking the bank.

We booked a double bed room, when arrived to check-in stuff told us our room has upgraded to triple bed (which I'm ok with) asked them why, reason provided is rooms all taken currently left 3 bed's room. Not sure is it bcoz i book via booking.com get cheaper price, hotel decide to give me that room.

Btw went up to room i'm really disappointed, room are dim, bathroom even more extremely dim, WC is dirty not properly clean, bedsheets are old and dirty look, tv & ac remote not functioning.

Otherwise renovation is ok & food served is ok too.

POV to hotel management, please upgrade all dim bulb lighting to brighter led light, it makes your hotel nicer and more efficient than conventional light bulb. And also please change those bedsheet with dirty stain, cloudy & dirty

Booked this hotel to kill time on Sunday from 1pm to 10pm before heading back to Singapore after a weekend getaway.

We arrived at 2pm and were asked to pay a 100 ringgit deposit. It was the last day of our trip so we didn’t have much cash. I gave then multiple options from paying with a debit card to leaving my passport to which they disagreed on. They told me to check with money changers outside. I then had to walk to a nearby money changer to see if they accepted debit cards and none accepted. So i went back

Honestly it was so ridiculous. I was so frustrated i told them to refund my booking and even that wasn’t possible? I even told them they could keep my whole bag at this point because of how ridiculous the whole situation was? I asked them why wouldn’t they accept my passport and they just said “ people have given us passports and still destroyed the room” I dont get why they assumed I was going to destroy a room Even when i wanted a refund it was so unbearable. They kept saying the manager was on leave I asked them what solution could they give me and they just kept quiet
Honestly it was such a stressful check in. Eventually a Singaporean passerby helped us and I paynowed him sgd 30?. Honestly horrible service for a mediocre room. Furthermore no where was it mentioned in my Agoda booking there was SUCH a mandatory deposit. Ridiculous hotel. Would never go back. Horrible hospitality.

Very disappointing experience, especially considering the price of RM175 per night. The staff showed poor attitude, and the first room we were given had a strong unpleasant smell with a faulty refrigerator. We had to request a change before being moved to a better room. It was frustrating to know that a cleaner, more comfortable room was available from the start, yet we were initially assigned one in such poor condition. Definitely not worth the price paid.

From the pictures, it does look beautifully stunning. But in is reality the hotel is dated. I was given family room consist of 1 queen and 2 singles although my booking is standard queen bed room.
On the positive side, the room is spacious, they provide extra pillows and extra towels which is a plus, the hot water and pressure is great. Breakfast is satisfying with reasonable choices of food. The hotel staffs especially at the reception are professional and very helpful.
On the negative side, although the bathroom is clean, but it has strong smell of urine. I found a used towel from previous guest still hanging behind the bathroom door (i think the cleaner must have forgotten). The room generally in dim as the number of lamps are not sufficient. The tv is not functioning.

Positive: I very happy for the discount price that I paid for this booking. I like the location and big window glass that can see the outside views. Negative: All the lights are not brighten enough. It's better if got warms type and bright type lamps/ lights

Location is super good, next to food centre and the Pasar Malam which opens every Monday. Hotel looks small, room is less than satisfactory despite newly renovated. Bathroom is not renovated I think. TV is not working well too. Breakfast does not taste good. Will not stay again even though it is cheap. Food at Mid Valley is good.
