The only purpose to come to Mersing is to take ferry to the Tioman Island; we arrived late and didn't make it to the last ferry so we had to stay overnight in the town. The owner (?) of this place was handing out fliers in the bus terminal so we followed him to the location. The hostel was housing several other backpackers, some apparently having staid there longer, probably due to the ridiculously low cost (like 5 euros a night) and friendly staff (they will arrange you the tickets to the island if you ask). The hostel provides all the basic amenities including internet access. Some huge green bugs were creeping around in the otherwise clean dorm rooms.

I stayed here one night before I left for Tioman, and another night when I got back. I enjoyed it both times. It's about a 5min walk from the jetty to Tioman, and a 8 minute walk from the bus terminal. There are plenty of places to eat around the hostel, but I recommend eating at the Drum Cafe, where the owner of the hostel works. He's very kind, and will answer any question you have. The bed is clean, and with two fans in the room it doesn't get too hot. It is loud, as it is right next to the main street, but the location is superb. There are security lockers for your stuff, and he provides a towel, sheet, and hot water for coffee and tea. Definitely would stay here again!

Went fishing with a group of 7. Stayed at Zeeadam for 3 days. The caretaker arranged our boat and tickets for ferry to tioman island too. It's a place all in one.. it is a cozy, clean and cheap place especially for budget travellers. The caretaker by name Farid will try his best to entertain your request during your stay. If you need a place to stay while in Mersing, try Zeeadam..you will not get disappointed.|

Lo Zeeadam ha preso il posto dell'Omar hostel e si trova proprio da parte.||Ottimo se dovete trascorrere una notte a Mersing in attesa o del traghetto per Tioman o un bus per l'entroterra. 2 camere con letti a castello più un letto matrimoniale, prezzo 5 euro a notte, wifi inclusa ma non la colazione. In pieno centro a100 metri dal molo e 200 dalla stazione dei bus.

Went for a fishing trip at tioman. Since we arrive early by from KL, need a place for a short nap and a bath. Man at jetty suggested zeeadam backpackers. Just a walking distance from the jetty, the room is comfortable. Toilet is clean and there's hot shower too..the service is good and the caretaker by the name Farid..was very helpful...need a cheap but realiable place to stay.. Zeeadam Backpackers is the place.

Been to Zeeadam Backpackers recently. A cheap but fairly comfortable place for a night before heading to Endauromping National Park the next day. Comfy double decker. Cold and hot shower. The place even has a living room with cable tv. Tried the free wifi, was in execellent speed. About 150 meters from the jetty. Near to all the necessities. I met Mr Farid, a local caretaker, a very imformative guy and he arranged my trip to Malacca too. If you need a cheap stay in mersing, try Zeeadam Backpackers.. Its good enough for me...

This hostel is located only a few meters away from the docks to take the ferry to Palau Tioman. The staff is very friendly and is probably the best (and maybe the only) option in town for backpackers with tight budgets. I even got the surprise of being the 2000th visitor which was awarded with free accommodation for the only night I stayed.

I came here to stay for one night and ended up staying a week. Tam and Farid are such lovely people and I felt very welcomed and at home here straight away. They even brought me out in their car to show me other parts of Mersing which was very nice indeed. A chilled out, relaxed hostel 5 min walk to the pier, lots of shops and restaurants too. Stay here you won't regret it!!
