Amazing Borneo Tours are just that: amazing! Our trip from Kota Kinabalu out to the Mount Kinabalu National park and Geothermal park was awesome. Our guide Yung was affable, knowledgeable, and made our trip memorable. He was an absolute gem, and Amazing Borneo Tours are a very well organised and professional outfit; this made our trip as smooth as we could have hoped for. Highly recommend using them!

Amazing 2D/1N expedition to hike Mt Kinabalu. Everything Amazing Borneo organized went smoothly (itinerary, food, pick up/drop off) and the climb itself is an experience I’ll never forget! I can only say my legs might have been sore but my heart was full. It’s the best way to admire Borneo’s wild and spectacular nature and easily the highlight of any trip for outdoors lovers/hikers. Special thanks to our guide Safrey who made us feel secure with his calm demeanour and vast knowledge of the mountain. He is kind and a remarkable athlete - he truly helped us enjoy our big 15-hour hike to and from Borneo’s highest summit!

Tour guide was super helpful with the bags. Helped us with the proposal pictures too at the summit. Guide for ferrata was amazing at giving directions. Everything was very chill eventhough we were hanging on top of the cliff. Food at restaurant was amazing too. BIG YUM. Shower were warm at pendant hut. Its only cold when the wind blows in the washroom ? Remember to bring your snacks and extra socks! Sleeping bag provided at hut.

We spontaneously booked the tour the day before at an amazing Borneo office. Mildred was very nice and organized and booked everything.
We were picked up from our hotel and then we had a 2 hour drive ahead of us. The guide was very nice and gave us interesting information about the tour in advance. Unfortunately, it rained a lot that day. Nevertheless, we were lucky enough to see monkeys and fireflies in the evening. Surprisingly, we were even able to spot a baby crocodile. All in all, a great experience.

I have recently completed a 3D2N Mount Kinabalu hike from 1st to 3rd September 2024, and I am incredibly grateful to Amazing Borneo for such a well-organized and memorable experience. This was my second time booking with Amazing Borneo, and the service was exceptional throughout. From the smooth booking process with Mr. Lewis on the WhatsApp helpline to the seamless logistics from the airport to Kinabalu Park HQ, everything was handled flawlessly. Upon arrival, I was warmly welcomed by Ms. Julie from the Amazing Borneo operation team, setting the perfect tone for the hike.

I would like to especially highlight my mountain guide, Mr. Joel Sanan, whose professionalism and passion truly enhanced the experience. My mountain guide’s calm and reassuring presence made all the difference, especially during the more challenging parts of the climb. His support wasn’t just physical—offering a helping hand when needed—but also motivational, as he constantly encouraged me when I felt fatigued or discouraged. His frequent reminder, “Cuba dulu, kalau tak boleh, kita patah balik” (Try first, if it’s not possible, we’ll turn back), was incredibly comforting. It was reassuring to know he had my back without ever pressuring me. His attentiveness to my well-being, checking for signs of altitude sickness and helping with my gear, was invaluable.

Additionally, I had asked my mountain guide to take several pictures and videos at the Submit. Despite the cold, windy conditions and the difficulty of handling equipment with gloves on, he took out his gloves and helped without hesitation or complaint. His willingness to go the extra mile ensured I leave with beautiful memories captured on camera, for which I am truly grateful.

For anyone considering the Mount Kinabalu trek, I found this mountain guide, Mr Joel Sanan’s professionalism and passion to be invaluable, and I’m confident others will find him just as exceptional.

With regards to accommodation - I stayed at Pendant Hut at base camp. There was a fellow hiker who became ill and vomited, but the staff at Pendant Hut immediately cleaned up the area without any complaint and later checked on the hiker’s condition to ensure he was recovering well. Their compassion and attentiveness in this situation truly impressed me and reflected the care they extend to all their guests.

To me, it was truly an Amazing Borneo. I highly recommend to all my friends and family members. Thank you for the incredible experience.

Absolutely recommend Amazing Borneo! They made our climb up Mount Kinabalu fantastic. From the comfortable accommodation to the excellent customer service, everything was perfectly arranged. We felt safe and looked after throughout the entire trip. Many thanks to Anthony Wong, my dad met him at a Matta Fair and he has been extremely helpful for going the extra mile and making our trip truly unforgettable! We ended up booking 2 trips with him, one for our climbing expedition and the other for my parents (4D3N KK & Kundasang-Package C). We all had an amazing time with Amazing Borneo!
