I wish I could give more stars but my heart only allowed 3 lol.
Pros: lots of activities and great amenities especially kids pool. Me and my family enjoyed the activity to the fullest. Area is a bit secluded, quiet perfect for getaway. Food were delicious. You can also go to Pulau Pangkor from here!

Cons: lots and thousands of flies and i heard from the staff its fly season on Oct. There were none in Sept but i cant fact check it. Seems like a norm here as fly swatter was provided in the room. Flies were literally everywhere regardless of where you are, even in the spa! So it kinda ruined the 5-stars hotel experience. Lots of stairs and not weelchair friendly. Since it was far from town, plan your makan time well especially if you got kids. Limited choices in grab food especially peak hour and will take longer time to reach.

Overall was a 6/10 experience, a bit disheartening and underwhelming given it is a 5-star hotel.

The staff were amazing though, very welcoming and accomodating.

The rooms okay lah, but no space if wanna add extra bed, everything was clean.

The view was good, just the pathway to the beach is a lot of stairs unless you walk to the other side of the resort and take the walkway. It would be good if there are more signage around the place about how to go and where. There is A LOT of walking and turns and its a bit difficult to access the makan area and to go from one floor to the next as not everything is easily accessible by lift.

There is A LOTTTT of fliesssss :((((( ruined a lot of our eating experience, even indoors, but good thing is that the hotel provide the small fans to distract the flies.

The food was so so only lah for a 5-star place, can say its giving 3.5-star rating. There was a lot of variety for the breakfast and that was the best part of the whole stay. We ordered room service dessert and that was really disappointing the ice cream had couple of toppings missing, for the price not worth it lah. Their mini market also close so early, around 8.30pm although we were told it was open till 9.30pm. Not sure what went wrong there.

Personally, we would not be coming back here, but it was a good experience for a one time thing! 👍🏼

Our room is the only turn off, shower area has yellow stain, housekeeping doesn’t replenish toiletries, the pillows on the sofa n bedsheets has bad odour. Like a heavy body odour. Wonder if they did change prior to our check-in.

Other than that we enjoyed the rest of the time in the resort, from food to the pool , beach water is nothing to be fancy about as it’s quite dirty , sands are rough too. Anyway, it’s a good place except for these small details.

If these are taken care of, it would be quite a perfect getaway.

Their crowd control at dining places is top notch. And the beef rendang tok and pangkor anchovies is lovely!

Oh ya I was charged RM5 for a bucket of ice, haha which is quite odd as I’ve never experience such in other hotels. I was shocked, but hey it’s fine. Gladly sign the receipt.

We had a wonderful family stay at DoubleTree by Hilton Damai Laut. From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, making us feel welcome throughout our stay. The rooms were comfortable and well-maintained, giving us a very relaxing experience.

One of the highlights was the food – every meal we had at the hotel was excellent. In fact, we enjoyed it so much that we didn’t feel the need to dine anywhere else during our trip. The variety and quality exceeded our expectations.

Overall, it was a memorable and enjoyable stay for our family. We truly appreciated the hospitality and can’t wait to return again soon

We had a wonderful stay at DoubleTree by Hilton Damai Laut Resort from 28–30 September 2025. The staff were warm and welcoming, and the resort itself is beautiful with serene views of the sea.

At first, our room was close to the lobby with less privacy, but the team quickly arranged a room change to a higher floor with an amazing view. We were also pleasantly surprised with the thoughtful touches — a birthday cake and towel decoration for our son’s 9th birthday, which truly made our trip extra memorable.

Our family enjoyed the facilities, and the kids especially loved the pool and beach. We would love to see more family-oriented activities for children in the future, but overall, the experience was excellent.

Thank you to the DoubleTree Damai Laut team for making our family trip and our son’s birthday celebration so special. Highly recommended!

The last visit was probably before MCO under the previous operator.
Revisit in 2025, wow, credit to DoubleTree, gave this place a brand new experience.
Lot of good things to say about this new facilities.
Comfortable environment.
Gym equipment are new.
The mini water park at pool suit the kids.
Volleyball court, pickleball court, etc.
Nice view to Pangkor.
Only thing is the location is like 30mins away from Setiawan town.
One of us left a wallet in the safe, the hotel managed to locate it.
Anyway, happy to be back.

Rooms are decent but nothing spectacular. Quite ok with balcony facing the beach.. breakfast is good but dinner buffet is not great in terms of taste.||Pool has slides and all and younger children will love it. Overall resort is clean and tidy and has some things to do.||Beach is average with some activities. Beautiful sunset.||Ok for short trip with children.

I brought my grandmother, my mother, and my son for a short vacation, and I must say that without choosing this hotel, our trip might not have been so memorable. My grandmother is a wheelchair user, and I was truly surprised to find the hotel to be almost 99% wheelchair accessible.
All the hotel staff were extremely helpful, always assisting us with pushing my grandmother. We nearly missed the chance to enjoy the beautiful seaside near the hotel, but thanks to the kind assistance of the staff, they helped us bring my grandmother there. We deeply appreciated their thoughtfulness and support. I will definitely back to Double Tree by Hilton Damai Laut Resort !
