A Truly Memorable Retreat at Enderong - Tanarimba

Our recent stay on July 23rd was fantastic and truly memorable. The room was clean, and the beds were comfortable, ensuring a restful night. We were captivated by the stunning views, surrounded by beautiful hills – a scenery like no other.

A special mention goes to Ms. Cherie, the Resort Manager, who was incredibly friendly and helpful. Her kind offer to cook dinner for us, despite it being a last-minute request, made our evening exceptionally special. We thoroughly enjoyed our chat with her about the resort. The quiet night, with only the sounds of nature, brought back cherished childhood memories.

While there was some noise from a training group in the multipurpose hall upstairs, it fortunately ended by 6 PM and didn't significantly detract from our experience.

The next morning, exploring the Tanarimba enclave and witnessing a beautiful sunrise was a highlight. We also gained valuable insights from Mr. Gary, the knowledgeable game/forest researcher, who explained his vital role in preserving nature here.

Overall, it was a memorable stay, and we look forward to returning with a larger group next time!

Review for Enderong Resort, Malaysia – Deeply Disappointed by Staff Conduct

I recently had the unfortunate experience of dealing with one of the managers at Enderong Resort — a Chinese lady whose attitude and behavior were extremely unprofessional, unwelcoming, and, quite frankly, racially biased.

As an event vendor who was there to provide services for a wedding, I expected to be treated with the same basic courtesy and respect that was extended to others on-site. Unfortunately, that was not the case. From the beginning, this particular staff member made it very obvious that she had a preference for her own vendors — those she was familiar with or had previously worked with. While she was warm, polite, and overly accommodating to her preferred vendors, her tone and mannerisms changed drastically when addressing others — including myself and my team.

She barely made eye contact, spoke curtly, and often acted dismissive, creating an uncomfortable and unprofessional atmosphere. It was clear we were not being welcomed as equals despite coming there to do our jobs. Her treatment towards us lacked basic courtesy, and it felt as though we were being judged based on who we were rather than the quality of service we provided.

This type of behavior is not only unprofessional but also unacceptable in a multicultural, hospitality-driven environment like Malaysia — especially at a resort that brands itself as a nature retreat and venue for joyous celebrations. If you’re looking to host a wedding or event at Enderong Resort and are planning to bring your own team of vendors, I would strongly urge you to think twice. The lack of support and inclusivity can ruin what should be a positive and seamless experience.

Respect should be the foundation of any collaboration. No vendor should be made to feel inferior or unwanted. I sincerely hope the management of Enderong Resort takes this feedback seriously and re-evaluates the conduct of their staff, especially those in managerial roles who are supposed to represent the resort’s values.

Until then, I do not recommend this venue to anyone seeking a welcoming, professional environment — particularly if you’re not working with their “in-house” or favored vendors.

Enderong Resort
A hidden gem in Janda Baik. The overall experience was very good and I would recommend it any day.
It is a very relaxed place to chill and not do anything. A place to escape from the hustle and bustle of KL.
The resort is rustic and woody but with all the modern amenities. The rooms were clean. The beds were comfortable. There was no TV but there was strong wifi (no mobile signal).
We booked two rooms - a quad and a triple. The quad room had an amazing view of the mountains covered with rolling clouds. The triple room was special - it had the usual room with three beds which led into another space with hanging plants as our roof. Interestingly, the weather was very cool especially once the sun went down. There was no need for air con. Very pleasant.
As I said earlier, it is a place to chill so there isn’t many activities. In the evening, we scrolled around the pond area. There’s also a pool to swim in.
We decided to have dinner at Enderong cafe because we were too lazy to drive out. Yummy dinner sets. We ordered the aromatic chicken set, fish & chips and grilled chicken. The table was beautifully set up for dinner.
The next day, we booked a nature walk with a guide, Gary. We are unfit city folks so we decided to do an easy walk. We really enjoyed it primarily because Gary was so knowledgeable and so interesting. The weather was a cool 24C at 9am. I would say that the nature walk with Gary is a MUST-do at Enderong.
A shout out to the staff of Enderong Resort. From the enquiry stage to the booking of the rooms and when we arrived, all were friendly, helpful and cheerful.
I am surprised it is not more popular. A truly hidden gem.

Stayed at enderong house. each individual per night stay is about RM270+. Overall could be better for the price paid.

Cleanliness ok. The breakfast is basic. The staff is friendly. Not much activity here, just feel the nature. I wish they could add more sockets, eg 4 person room only 3 sockets (2 occupied for mosquito repellent and standing lamp lol)

The swimming pool is dirty and poorly maintained. the room lock abit faulty.

Some safety concern:
1 swimming pool don't have any handle stairs to enter or exit pool, quite dangerous.
2 certain room has big bath tub + shower area together, also don't have any handle, which is easy to fall esp when it's wet. but some room has it.

Nice and clean rooms. Blended in well with nature, would recommend. If the management could offer better choices of food and beverages, it will be even better but other than that, fantastic place.

Did not stay in. Went to check out the place & have a short lunch.
Nice place but food really horrible.
Is either too hard or uncooked.
Very sad that this ruined the whole trip
