A few of the staff are friendly! I love that they even ready my wanting boom at the counter, I call them for a book that I want and they ready it! MPH really has everything! Pity that it is only at The Spring, and very far from my place. The membership is free and I think I found my new favourite bookstore!

Unprofessional Staff Behaviour Before Store Closing Time

Dear Store Manager,

I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding an unpleasant experience I had at your store during a recent visit.

On 30th July 2025, I entered the store around 9:00 PM with my two children, as they wanted to buy some books and school supplies. The store was still open, and it was not yet 9:30 PM — well within your stated business hours.

Upon entering, I witnessed several female staff members at the cashier shouting toward a male staff member who was outside the store using his phone. One of them loudly said, “Eh ni kau pdh … pkl 9.30 tek nak …”, and though I couldn’t hear the rest clearly as her voice faded, it was clearly intended to signal the start of store closing preparations — even though there were still customers inside.

Immediately after, the male staff took hold of the shutter shaft, giving a clear signal that they were preparing to close, making it very uncomfortable for us as customers — as if we were not welcome.

This behaviour was rude, unprofessional, and discouraging, especially considering that my children were excited to shop for their school needs. Staff should not make customers feel rushed or unwelcome before the actual closing time. It reflects poorly on the store’s service standards.

I sincerely hope this complaint will be taken seriously. I request that appropriate action be taken and that your staff be reminded of proper conduct, especially during store hours.

The customer service at this bookstore was terrible. The staff were rude, blamed me for their own mistake, and kept interrupting while I was speaking. Very unprofessional and disappointing experience.

0 for customer service. Hopefully, MPH management takes action and disciplines their staff. Train them on how to treat customers. To the counter staff: I’m talking about you

If you’re passionate about books, this place is a treasure trove you shouldn’t miss. It offers an incredible selection that caters to every reader’s taste. Please note that this store is dedicated to book enthusiasts and doesn’t carry small stationery items.

Place is nice but not much books. School books not popular choices. Novels not up to date.

Workers are very not professional. They talk so loud about a series that most people like but thet dont like. They should keep opinion to themselves. They talk bad about book that is very popular in MPH stores "Shadow and Bones"

They talk spoilers and reveal some big important thing about the series. It was so loud , half of the MPH can hear it (yes i walk away just to hear how loud they are)

This occurs on 3rd march, noon time.

The staff no friendly and rude.. when customer pass by and be rude with customer when customer asking her … the girl with spec and tie her hair up.. hopefully MPH Mamagement can take action …this will effect ur business
