국내선과 국제선이 분류가 되어있지 않음.
화장실이나 다른 부대시설은 깨끗한 편임

Tawau Airport serves its purpose as a regional hub but remains modest in scale. While basic operations run smoothly, the airport's limited size and dated infrastructure highlight the need for upgrades. Certain facilities appear aged or lacking in capacity, particularly during peak travel hours. With Tawau being a growing point of entry for both domestic and international visitors, enhancement of amenities and modernization efforts would elevate the overall passenger experience.

Too old... Already announced to expand the terminal but din do anything. Aircon all using portable with water flow... Restaurants are many but not enough. And expensive...5G tower above the terminal so no worry no mobile signal. Toilet are wet and some cant lock. When departure , 3 planes landed but only has 1 aerobridge is usable.. although airasia wont use bridge. 8 immigration counters .. 4 for malaysians 4 for foreign also cannot cater the flood of foreigners going sempurna.

The immigration efficiency was superb. Passes through like breeze. Courteous and friendly. And helpful. Baggage retrieval was smooth without hassle. Facilities well maintained.

Tawau Airport is pretty basic but has everything you need. It’s usually just a transit point for those heading to Semporna. However, one thing that really stands out—in a bad way—is the men's restroom. It’s in terrible condition. I’ve included a photo so you can see for yourself.

Not too crowded in the morning, which made the whole experience quite smooth. The staff were friendly and helpful — even called out our names for the last call when we almost missed the flight. What surprised us was how everyone, including passengers from other flights, kindly made way for us to get through quickly. Felt like a small-town kindness moment. Overall, a chill little airport with good vibes!
