Was promised a 2km paragliding experience for 2 people at Batu Ferringhi beach for 300 MYR. The operator assured us we'd fly 2km along the coastline. In reality, we got a tiny loop that barely left the launch area - my GPS tracking shows we only covered about 400 meters maximum (see attached map screenshot with scale).
That's only 20% of what was promised. The flight lasted maybe 2-3 minutes instead of what should have been a proper coastal flight. When you're up in the air you don't realize how short it is until you check the GPS data later.

The price seemed reasonable for 2km of tandem paragliding, but for what we actually received, it was a complete ripoff. They took advantage of tourists not being able to judge distance while in the air.

Would not recommend. There are surely more honest operators in Penang who actually deliver what they promise. Make sure to clarify flight duration AND distance before paying, and consider using GPS tracking to verify you get what you pay for.
